Meet The Team

Equine Handler
Jonathan
Jonathan came from a generational line of ranchers. As a child, Jonathan often spent time near livestock and horses in Mexico. Naturally, Jonathan was intrigued and drawn to horses. After several years of working and maintaining a busy lifestyle, Jonathan got his first horse. It was through this relationship, Jonathan uncovered the healing capabilities of equine relationships. Through spending time with his horse, Jonathan began his own healing journey from past traumas.

Bronco
Bronco is a 16-year-old Quarter horse. Brave Bronco was given to our family as a gift. There a few known details about Bronco’s past however it is believed he suffered a major injury to his mouth as a colt. Bronco appeared to be underweight and cautious of others. Throughout time Bronco developed confidence and a strong stature. Today, Bronco spends the day grazing and leading the herd as the Alpha male. But don’t let his size fool you, he is truly a sweetheart at the core. Our hope is that Bronco’s story will encourage you that your confidence and ability to overcome can inspire others!

Spirit
Spirit is an 8-year-old Cremello horse. Our sweet Spirit had a rough beginning. He was constantly nipped and bullied by his past herd. Eventually, he came into the care of others where he was kept in small metal shed during the hot summer months. It was discovered by a young girl that Spirit was not being fed and being constantly smothered by another horse in the small shed. The young girl decided to trade a puppy in order to take ownership of Spirit. Unfortunately, summer came to an end and school was about to begin. The young girl realized she would not be able to care for Spirit. She submitted a post inquiring if anyone would like to take ownership of Spirit. We came across the post and decided to go meet Spirit. When we arrived, we saw a beautiful blue-eyed horse who was underweight and wounded. We instantly knew he would be ours. At the time, Spirit was named Dude. We decided to change his name in order to reflect his new beginning. We chose Spirit as it reflects his sweet nature and endurance through all his hardship. Today, Spirit now spends the day grazing and looking after the smaller ponies. We hope Spirit’s story will encourage you see that even through darkness there is light at the end of the tunnel.

General
General is a 28 year old Hackney pony. That’s right, General is an expert in his own right! We came across General when we went to adopt our pony Finn at the SPCA of Texas. The SPCA staff explained that General was brought in from Georgia along with Finn. There was not much known about General’s past other than he was very calm and had created a bond with Finn. General’s presence seemed to naturally create a sense of peace for both animals and humans. We were honored to bring General into our home. General has proven to be a true gentleman and the kindest horse. Today, General spends the day grazing, comforting Finn and playing with our small children. Our hope is that General’s story will encourage you to see that your kindness can make the biggest difference in the life of another.

Finn
Finn is a 5-year-old pony. Handsome Finn started his life out as unicorn pony for parties. It is believed Finn had experienced trauma and abuse during this period of his life. Finn became fearful and he was labeled as unusable therefore surrendered. Eventually, Finn was transported from Georgia into the care of the SPCA of Texas. We had been praying specifically for a white pony which is what led us to find Finn. When we first met Finn, we instantly fell in love with his large rock style mane. Although scared, he still made small steps to approach us. We greatly desired to show Finn how precious he was. Today, Finn spends that day grazing with the herd and playing tag with his friends. Finn is still in the healing process but has improved greatly. We hope Finn’s story will inspire you to see that your worth is not defined by others or experiences, no matter what you are worthy!
