Meet The Team

Jonathan comes from a long line of ranchers, and his love for horses was rooted in him from childhood. That lifelong bond has grown into something purposeful: Jonathan finds deep fulfillment in offering horses with difficult backgrounds a safe, peaceful place to land.

As our dedicated caretaker and equine handler, Jonathan ensures the well-being of both our clients and our herd. He brings calm, expertise, and genuine care to everything he does. His presence on the ranch is a steady, grounding force for horses and humans alike.

Bronco is a striking, powerful Quarter Horse with a presence that commands respect. While much of his early history remains unknown, it is believed that he sustained a significant injury to his mouth as a colt, a wound that shaped him quietly but deeply.

Despite this, Bronco has grown into the natural leader of our herd. He takes his role as protector seriously, watching over the others with quiet authority and unwavering steadiness.

Bronco's story reminds us that strength can rise from hardship — and that the courage to persevere can become an inspiration to those around you.

Spirit's early life was marked by hardship. Constantly pushed away and bullied by his former herd, he eventually ended up confined to a small metal shed through sweltering Texas summers. He was malnourished, crowded, and overlooked. It was a young girl who noticed Spirit's suffering and stepped in to rescue him, ultimately giving us the profound gift of his care.

When Spirit arrived at the ranch, he was severely underweight and wounded both in body and spirit. Through months of patient trust-building, he slowly began to open up. Today, Spirit is sturdy, healthy, and at a thriving weight. We chose his name to honor the quiet endurance and gentle nature that carried him through every hardship.

Now, Spirit spends his days grazing peacefully and watching over our smaller pony, a caretaker in his own right.

Spirit's journey is a testament that even after the darkest seasons, there is light and healing waiting on the other side.

Finn is our sweet rescue pony with a way of softening every heart he meets. His life began as a "unicorn pony" for children's parties, a role believed to have brought him significant fear and trauma. Labeled "unusable," Finn was surrendered and eventually transported from Georgia into the care of the SPCA of Texas.

When we found Finn, we were immediately drawn to him. His large, expressive eyes and his rocky mane stole our hearts instantly. Though hesitant at first, Finn took small, brave steps toward connection. Over time, he found safety, trust, and a sense of belonging within our herd.

Finn is still on his healing journey, but his progress has been remarkable. He now spends his days grazing with the herd and playing with his friends. A pony who once had every reason to give up, choosing joy instead.

Finn's story is a reminder that your worth is never defined by how others have treated you. No matter what you've been through....you are worthy.

Blitz is a beautiful Thoroughbred with a storied past as a former professional racehorse who gave years of physical effort and speed to the track. Rescued through the Humane Society of Texas, Blitz arrived at The Therapy Ranch ready for something more gentle. 

What makes Blitz special is his rare combination of strength and tenderness. He serves as the quiet diplomat of the herd, naturally balancing the personalities around him and keeping the peace with effortless grace. After a career defined by endurance and performance, Blitz now enjoys long, unhurried days grazing in the pasture alongside his friends.

Blitz is a living reminder that after seasons of hard work, rest is not a reward ...it's a necessity. You deserve it, too.
